Journal Entry 1

The moment has finally arrived. Toy Fair is underway. We've completed all the preparations with the collaborative effort of nearly every person in the ReSaurus family and then some. The showroom has come together and is full to overflowing with all the items we have to show for 1999. We may well have to get a larger showroom next year with the plans we currently have.

So, you might be asking yourself, "What happens now?" Well, now the real show begins. All week we will have a constant stream of people come through our showroom. This includes buyers from all the major retail chains, buyers from all around the world, numerous members of the press, and other notable industry types. This process has already started as a matter of fact. We had so much interest in our products that we had to actually start having people in this weekend! We're very happy about the level of interest in our products.

Everyone who has seen the showroom has had great things to say. We have such a diversified group of products, there is bound to be something for everyone. Lots of people are going nuts for the Tenth stuff. Other people are crazy about our Quartermaster General line of 12" clothing and accessories. Each one of our current lines has struck a chord in the people who have been through the showroom. The response has been overwhelming and very gratifying.

It's really great to get these kind of reactions after we have worked for months (literally) to prepare for this one week. It's hard to believe that it will all be over in just seven short days. But what is even more exciting is that the entire staff seems to be energized and ready to get to work on new projects and ventures that we will be able to talk about later in the year. The people who work for ReSaurus seem to have inexhaustible creative batteries. You couldn't ask for a better staff.

We showed you how we designed our Toy Fair showroom in a previous article. In the last two weeks, we have had our designers on site at various times to begin the process of actually setting up the showroom. This was quite a feat as some of the items that were to be shown were not ready until the very last minute. One of our designers was loaded down with stuff to bring at the last minute.

Plus, with the addition of some early appointments, we had to work extra hard to get everything to fall into place. Fortunately, it did. Everything came off without a hitch. Let me tell you, there is no experience like being in one of the showroom buildings the night before Toy Fair kicks off. The hallways are crammed full with boxes as different companies try to get everything ready. It looks like a warehouse!

But amazingly enough, by the time it all gets started, everything seems to get to where it belongs. Then the halls are buzzing with the activity of buyers, press and industry people. It's really quite exciting. Even if you have been through the process of Toy Fair numerous times before, it's always kind of a rush. There will be guys in costumes promoting different items. There will be tons of free magazines and industry publications. Catalogs will be flowing freely. There just isn't enough time to look at everything.
