FROM THE BEGINNING
What started as a small entrepreneurial endeavor in 1993 has grown to a multi-million dollar toy company and a leader in the toy industry in less than a decade. The company was founded by two designers who created an educational dinosaur poster. The company name was contrived from this poster - "your resource for dinosaurs" or ReSaurus. With the revenue generated from the sale of the poster to specialty stores, ReSaurus created a new product - latex animal and dinosaur hand puppets.
OUR BIG BREAK
The realistic sculpting, authentic texture, and detailed painting captured the attention of the movie execs set to release Jurassic Park: The Lost World -- the deal that would launch ReSaurus as a leader in the toy industry. ReSaurus designed and created vinyl hand and finger puppets with Soundbytesä
and immediately struck a chord with the mass market retailers. WalMart, Kmart, Toys 'R Us, Kay Bee Toy & Hobby, Target, Meijer and nearly every other U.S. mass market chain took in the product on sight at the New York International Toy Fair in 1996.
WORLDWIDE EXPANSION
With the overwhelming acceptance from the U.S. market, it was time to venture overseas. ReSaurus has secured long-lasting partnerships with the industry's top distributors in Germany, U.K., France, Japan, Australia, South America, Canada, Italy, Africa, and the Benelux countries.
THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT
ReSaurus has established a strong reputation for getting product to market in a short period of time while consistently producing unbelievable toys. This reputation has opened doors in the world of entertainment licensing -
Major Motion Pictures -- Godzilla, Virus, Dragonheart, Flipper,
Comic Books - Bone, The Tenth
Television & Video - The Discovery Channel, Speed Racer, Looney Tunes
Card Game - Magic: The Gathering
LEADER OF THE PACK
In one category, ReSaurus has without a doubt set the trend and become the dominant force - video-game action figures. ReSaurus has acquired the rights to the leading video-game icons for Sony Playstation, N64 and soon-to-be-released Dreamcast. Crash Bandicoot, Duke Nukem, Quake, and Gex are among this list of top-selling games. Millions of action figures have been sold to date and continue to be strong.
UNPARALLELED GROWTH
New markets, continued sales growth and a creative staff has allowed ReSaurus to expand its product lines to provide long-term stability. It's no longer a boys action toy company, but a complete, diversified toy company delivering high-quality, reasonably priced, and creative products. ReSaurus' current product line includes action figures and accessories, hand puppets, games, vehicles, plush, key chains, talking posters, collectibles and more.
In 1997, sales grew 180% from the previous year. In 1998, a 195% increase. ReSaurus is no longer the new kid on the block, but an established toy company with a diverse product line for kids and collectors. What started as a company of two designer making posters has developed into a company of more than 25 dedicated and passionate people with two common goals - one, create the best toys at the best price, and two, deliver great product on time and without error.
THE FUTURE
The future of ReSaurus is limitless. Controlled expansion is happening in all areas -- sales, staffing, product diversity, warehousing, and market share. Projections for 1999 indicate a sales increase of nearly 200%. This includes ReSaurus' aggressive endeavor into e-commerce which is expected to generate half a million dollars in revenues.
